Fashion First Show in Seattle

7th Annual FASHION FIRST will Honor SEATTLE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Seattle, WA (August 17, 2010) - Tickets are now on sale for Seattle’s longest running independent fashion show and fundraiser, FASHION FIRST, to be held Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Showbox SODO.  The event, which provides a platform for independent retailers and local design talent, has a long-standing tradition of casting celebrity models in the show’s male set.  Previous models have included Seattle Sounders and Mariners players, politicians, and TV and radio personalities.  FASHION FIRST is very proud to announce that this year, our celebrity models will be officers and two Assistant Chiefs from the Seattle Police Department.

Thanks to the help of Detective Reneé Witt at SPD Media Relations, FASHION FIRST was able to bring together 12 officers, male and female, to walk in the show and showcase Fall 2010 looks from Ballard shop Asher Anson.  FASHION FIRST Executive Director, Joan Kelly, says, “Once we had the idea to honor the SPD in our celebrity set, we knew it couldn’t really be anyone else.  FASHION FIRST is all about Seattle and the Puget Sound and this is our way of thanking these heroes for putting their lives on the line to protect us every day. ”

In addition to showcasing local design and retail, FASHION FIRST has long served as the intersection of fashion and philanthropy in Seattle.  This year’s beneficiary charity is Rise n Shine, a local organization supporting children affected by HIV/AIDS.  SPD Chief John Diaz said, “The Seattle Police Department is humbled to be recognized by FASHION FIRST. This is truly a remarkable event in that it is giving back to people in need and a prime example of people working together for the betterment of the community as a whole.”

The Seattle Police Department will be involved throughout the evening, with even more surprises in store for guests at the fashion show fundraiser.  Leigh Canlis will model the Seattle Magazine/Art Institute of Seattle dress in the finale. Ticket prices range from $50 GA tickets to $500 for Couture VIP.  There is also a VIP ticket available for just $100 until September 1st when prices will rise to $150.  Tickets are available for purchase online at www.FashionFirstSeattle.com.
